I am a big fan of chickpeas!
What about you?
I have a lot of cooking and baking planned for the next couple of weeks, with chickpeas to use in a couple of the recipes.
Below is a Veggies…post from a few years ago, featuring a couple of my favorite chickpea recipes.
Hope you enjoy them soon and DO let me know if you give them a try.
HAPPY WEEK TO ALL! 🙂
I’m a big fan of chickpeas.
I use them in all kinds of recipes: soups, stews, curries, hummus…
I ♥ their nutty rich flavor and the unique texture they add to dishes too.
And they are sooooooo good for us! 😉
There are many health benefits derived from eating chickpeas, you can read more about that here and here.
On the menu for supper tonight:
Slow Cooker Veggie Curry
And to add to this week’s snacks with crudites, crackers…
Fresh Rosemary Hummus
Both recipes are featured in:
The Groovy Green Kitchen: Weeknight Veggie Slow Cooker
Do you like chickpeas?
What’s your favorite way of using them in recipes?
Hi Geraldine 🙂 I do love hummus once in a while. I used to eat falafel quite a bit. But my tastes have changed over the years and I’m not such a big fan of chickpeas anymore! Plus, my digestion tells me it ain’t happenin’ when I try to eat hummus now!!!
They are always handy to have around in cans.
Everything look delicious. Perhaps, some day I will try to cook something with chickpeas.
These recipes are both delicious. And the photos are making me hungry.
Thats too bad Rain. I’m crazy about hummus. I eat way too much when I make a batch. My recipe features fresh rosemary which really adds to the flavor. 😊
I try to stay away from canned goods Christine but they definitely are handy when time is limited. More organic canned beans now which I also appreciate.😊
Thanks Kaya! These are both photos from my first cookbook, I can take credit for the recipes but not the actual photos!😁
I agree Joe, they make me hungry too.
Happy Week and happy cooking.😊😊😊
If I’ve eaten a chick pea i don’t know – …but I have never to my knowledge had one. Maybe it’s time to try it. The photos look deicious.
