According to my office wall calendar, today is:
Hug a Vegetarian Day. ๐
I also noted online that tomorrow, October 1st is World Vegetarian Day.
So make sure to hug all the vegetarians you know today and tomorrow. ๐
On a personal note, I’ve been a vegetarian for many years and have never regretted my decision to give up eating meat.
More and more people continue to embrace a vegetarian diet, for a number of reasons and there are millions of vegetarians around the world.
For me, it’s always been mainly an ethical choice to not eat meat, due in large part to reading: Diet for a New America by John Robbins, several years ago. I was shocked and saddened by what I read in that book and I never forgot it. ๐ฆ I had been eating less and less meat for years, before reading that book. And after finishing the book (and it’s a very tough book to read, if you love animals) I gave it up completely.
On the plus side, I’ve been healthier and happier since I became a vegetarian and delighted by all the good things that can be created in the kitchen without any meat.

I have a sister who’s been a vegetarian for 40 years an she’s quite happy. Her husband, however, used to love when they flew from Vancouver to Ontario to visit and there was m.e.a.t. on the table.
I’ve been a vegetarian for almost 30 years! That food looks so delicious.
Virtual hug to you. ๐
I want to hug my favorite vegetarian.
It’s easy to go vegetarian, with great recipes like you make especially.

That’s wonderful to read Lady Fi! Vegetarians rock. ๐
Back at ya Imelda. ๐
And to you too Joe! I agree about the recipes. Being a vegetarian is a snap, especially if you love to cook like I do.
Thanks Becca, and one for you and all the felines there.
Have a great week. It’s still nice and warm here in BC, G
Tess, Two of your recent comments ended up in my spam filter, go figure. ๐ฆ
I don’t miss meat at all, never have, never will. As I said above, after reading John Robbins’ book about factory farming, that was it for me.
Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog for a little while today. I’m following you, so Iโll be back!
