Well, summer is almost here. and I realized the other day, I haven’t had a giveaway/contest at any of my blogs for a quite a while.
For any of my regular readers who also stop by at my review blog: My Real Life Reviews you’ll probably remember that I was hosting contests there in particular and on a fairly regular basis, in the past couple of years.
So, I’ve decided to do something about this lack of free goodies, 😉 (I love contests too!!!) so here are the details of:
Veggies…Summer Fun Giveaway!
First of all, the prizes:
Your choice of 2 of the Lucky Penny Pouches shown here.
You can read more about these fun little amulet pouches/charms here.
I make these for orders and gifts too.
Great for bringing more good karma, luck and mojo your way! 😉
A sunshine-yellow cotton crochet shawl
(yes, I made it myself) 😉
This is much prettier than the photo btw!!!
It’s actually a warm, golden-yellow color.
Perfect to wear with sundresses on summer evenings! 🙂
And just in time for summer reading (and cooking)- Kindle copies of these three books.
And in case you didn’t think summer was a great time for using a slow cooker, think again! 😉
Set and forget it and get out to enjoy the sunshine. No heating up the kitchen either.

I’m always on the look-out for new books to read (aren’t you?) so I thought this was a great idea for a contest. And this time of year, I especially love those that have a summery theme. 😉

In the meantime, I’m going to be taking a short blog break.
The to-do pile here is once again out of control, for online and offline projects. Can you relate?
So I’m going to try to make a serious ‘dent’ in all that and also get out more to enjoy the sunny days we are having right now, here in BC. And before it gets TOO hot to actually enjoy being outside.
Good luck with the contest and enjoy the sunshine, wherever you are too.
I’ll see ya soon! 🙂
What a lovely giveaway! Summer means more travel, and my current airplane/road trip favorite is Maisie Dobbs. I’m ready for the fifth book in the series! I just love this character and the unique ways she “reads” the people she helps. 🙂
Great contest and prizes. I’m not entering the contest for obvious reasons. You’ve got a lot to do, that I know and blogging can take a lot of time. Good luck to everyone who enters.
I know I can’t but I will anyway, my favourite summer book is : Firefly Beach from Luanne Rice, very close second is True Blue, also from Luanne Rice, from the fabulous oceans of Nova Scotia this author, can give you untypical romance but set in such outstanding beauty that it takes your breath away. True Blue also set in fabulous setting is the only fictional book that ever made me cry. Usually character base with information on all of the beauties you can find in an ocean, in Nova Scotia, about Beautiful Souls who are nature lovers, and love always…those are books I can re-read often if only to get a feeling for the place for the immense loveliness, if I could I would move there in a NY Second. Ok In a NS Second lol thanks a bunch G. had to do it even if I CAN’T….
Any of Gladys Taber’s Stillmeadow books. Have just ordered an old copy of Conversations with Amber, which is about her cat. A cup of tea in the early morning with a Stillmeadow book is a lovely way to start any day.
Sounds like a book series you are really enjoying Katherine, thanks for the recommendation!
I hope to make a real “dent” in that desk pile Joe. 😉 And the sewing, knitting…piles too. LOL
I’m so sorry they have those stupid contest rules in Quebec, Lorraine. Makes no sense. Thanks for the book recommendations though. 🙂
Thanks Cheryl and welcome to Veggies…I don’t have a contact email for you btw, which I would need if you won a prize.
Good luck and happy week, G
PS: I forgot to mention one of my all-time fav summer books: Beachcombing at Miramar.
http://www.amazon.com/Beachcombing-Miramar-Quest-Authentic-Life-ebook/dp/B000QCTMUG/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1400688405&sr=1-1&keywords=beachcombing+at+miramar
I usually get a copy out every summer, to enjoy again. It’s a memorable book.
Keep those recommendations/entries coming! 🙂
Great Contest Geraldine! what beautiful things you make. Hmmm, My favourite summer book is just magazines, magazines, magazines, I can’t get enough of them trying to read them all while traveling or laying on the beach or visiting someone. Weird i suppose. I follow you too. have a great week!! last summer i read a Sarah Pekkanen Novel (The BEst of Us) and absolutely loved the pace and summery setting of it.
What a fun giveaway, Geraldine! I am excited about entering this one. That shawl is so beautiful.:) Well, lets see here…One of my all time summer favorites would had have to have been Take A Chance on Me by Susan May Warren. The theme pretty much hit home and I related with storyline in many different ways. I read it once last summer for the first time and I’m looking forward to reading it again soon. Take Care out there Geraldine~ Have a nice Memorial Day weekend!
I’m a follower, though behind in reading since I’ve made a couple trips to my daughter’s recently–presently here for a week. You are so talented, wielding that crochet hook! Love the shawl you made, that would be perfect for summer. A favorite summer book, hmmm, now you’re making me think! For some light reading, a collection of short stories by O. Henry.
Geraldine, I love reading mysteries or old classics; however, the book that came to my mind instantly that I’ve read more than any other in the summer is, Educating the WholeHearted Child by Clay and Sally Clarkson. I think I read this for 5 or six summers in a row while my three children were little. It was the first homeschooling book I read and remained a favorite.
Enjoy your break from blogging.
Blessings ~ Wendy ❀
Summer reading is Miami? North Pole getaway travel guides.
Summer reading is generally science fiction or fantasy or sometimes mysteries. I don’t really have a specific book, but I’ve been enjoying Patricia Briggs (the Mercy Thompson series), Jim Butcher, and Ilona Andrews (The Edge series).
Enjoy your summer and I love the shawl.
