Just checking in….

Hope you are all enjoying a lovely weekend, wherever you are.

I’m “nursing” a sore foot (again, rats) appears to be a bit sprained.

On the plus side, did make the most of my  “down time” yesterday, working on a pattern (my very own!!!) for some crochet booties. I managed to finish one bootie (not worthy of a photo yet). Not quite there, in terms of the final pattern being perfect, but pretty darn close.

It was lots of fun, I couldn’t believe how fast the hours flew by. Guess that’s why Ravelry is filled with designs from their members. Speaking of Ravelry, love the concept, I’m just wondering if I will ever find the time to participate as so many of you do. Seems to be a gazillion things to check out over there.

Right now, I’m still a bit Ravel-Dazzled !!!!     😉

I also have a couple of new recipes to share with you, coming up next week.

One for “Wheat-germ, Coconut Cran Muffins” (too yummy).

Also, a very satisfying supper-in-a-casserole, “Green Lentil, Tomato and Veggie Bake” (colorful and delish). Do stay tuned for  those.

I’m going to be adding a couple of new categories to Veggies…very soon. One will be for New Recipes (ie: post NJFV) and also My Crochet Designs (including some that I’ve made in the past).

My interest in crochet is re-emerging BIG TIME so what the hey….I keep seeing other people in Blogland designing their own patterns. Time to ‘tidy up’ and compile the patterns I’ve designed myself and more to follow.

Hope you will enjoy the new creations from the kitchen and the hook!!!

In the meantime, hope you will stop by to share my latest poem at My Poetic Path: Thoughts at Twilight

I look forward to reading your thoughts too, very soon.

Now I’m off to visit some of my fav. blogs (as many as I can) !!!!

  1. So sorry to hear about the foot. But if it gave you the time to sit and crochet, then I suppose there is an upside. Still, I hope it feels better soon. And I’m looking forward to seeing those booties!

  2. Ouch…..Take care of your foot!

Gee…haven’t crocheted in a while; just picked up the tatting again since I had it out for a visit to the local community college. (They are considering putting my tatting class on the schedule for the fall semester. 🙂 )

I do miss doing fine crochet, though…..just don’t have the time right now.

  3. I hope your foot is on the mend! Thanks for your supportive comments and visits to my blog. It has been a whirlwind of a month.

I love crochet items! My grandmother used to make skirts and vests, with matching slips underneath! They were so 70’s! I wish I had pictures to show you. They were so unique! One I had was mint green, with a slip to match, and she added a yellow, polka dotted blouse! Oh! the memories.

    Regards!

  4. I’m definitely staying tuned for those recipes. Lentils are one of my fave foods, so I’m always looking for new ways to prepare them. Sorry about your foot. Hope it feels better soon!

  5. Take care of that foot Geraldine..
    Looking forward to those recipes..

  6. I hope your foot feels better soon! Good luck with your crochet designs, too.

  7. Sorry about that foot! I like the idea of new vegie dishes! 🙂
And as far as Ravelry is concerned, you can use it as you like, yes, it’s a tad overwhelming (and I’ve only barely scratched the surface in the almost 1 year I’ve been a member) but it’s amazingly simple too, and you can use it “your way” with no problem!
    (((hugs)))

  8. I hope your foot feels better!

  9. Hope your foot is better soon! Am waiting with baited breath for your new patterns and recipes! Raverly is so addicting! 🙂

  10. Hi Sheep, Thanks and I will make good use of any ‘foot-down-time’ via more crocheting/knitting getting done. I am looking forward to the ‘ta da…’ moment! 😉

Hi Michelle, Wow, tatting…one of the few crafts I know nada about. I hope your class is a go. Ive done a lot of teaching over the years (crafts, cooking) and I really, really enjoyed it.

Hi Bellavia, That sounds like some fun crochet, I’d love to see a pic. too.

Hi Selma and Gemma, I hope to have these recipes posted by the end of this week. In the meantime, do check out my recipe archives for lots of choices from my cookbook.

    Hi Beth, Thanks!

Hi Sallee, I just need to find the time to really check out Ravelry and find my niche. All the people who love it must have found something wonderful there to come back to, again and again.

  12. I hope your foot’s improving – it doesn’t sound as if it slowed you down too much in getting lots done. I’m looking forward to the coconut cran muffins recipe.

Hi to my first reader from Rome (I think?) Welcome, sorry will have to pass on the tag, I think most of my regular readers are kinda ‘tagged out’ 😉 it’s been done so many times.
On the plus side, love your original crochet patterns (well done!) and glad I found your blog.

Hi Billy, Thanks so much. Foot is feeling a lot better today.
