Crochet Bonanza!!!!

In a couple of previous posts, I had mentioned my frustration at not being able to find much in the way of nice crochet patterns and ones that I actually would want to spend the time to make. Lo and behold, it appears that at least in the crochet department, my luck is changing and fast!!! Now, I find myself with TOO MANY crochet patterns I’d love to make and too little time to make it happen.

One of the recent ‘jackpots’ netting (or should I say hooking!!) some lovely, fashionable and trendy patterns arrived unexpectedly in the Friday ‘snail mail’ pile. I say unexpectedly because it was quite some time ago when I sent in a coupon to receive a free issue of Crochet magazine and quickly forgot about it (I get a lot of free offers/coupons in the mail, most of them never used).

The July issue of Crochet is my kind of freebie! Full of beautiful crochet designs, some a bit too daring for my taste (and body!!) LOL but I still found several that I plan to keep for future reference and hopefully get to make. And maybe making summer sweaters in the winter (and vice versa) is the to go….that way I’d actually get to wear them during the right season!!!

This is a beautiful magazine, visually appealing, great full page color photos of projects and something for everyone. Everything from (in this particular issue):  toys, a gorgeous designer dress, several tops, lovely purses in several sizes and styles, fabulous afghans, even jewelry…. and at all skill levels.

Crochet magazine is also online at: Crochet, where I found the free download for the Mango Mesh Pullover featured above. Isn’t this the most beautiful color? The pattern is available at: Mango Mesh Pullover.

This is definitely a site and a magazine to check out, in case you haven’t already. Of course, you need to like to crochet but that’s certainly is the case for me. Now, what to pick next….hmmmmm and where to find a few more hours each day!!!

More craft, course and recipe updates, coming soon so stay tuned…..    🙂

  1. I think that one of the reasons for my wandering away from the crochet was the lack of appealing patterns. They all seemed a little grandmotherly for me. But, you’re right. There are some really nice looking garments out there now. I keep telling myself that I’m going to give it another shot.

  2. I can crochet one line for hours… 🙂

  3. There are so many beautiful crochet patterns available now. I just may have to re-learn my crochet skills. Thank you for the link to these freebies on the site.

  4. When you find more hours in the day, please let me know. I want some, too. 🙂 That pullover is very pretty. I think I’ll mostly stick with knitting, though, because crocheting hurts my hand. I don’t hold the hook correctly. I hold it like a toddler holds a spoon!

  5. Thanks to all of you for stopping by. And yes Beth, if I ever find the secret formula for making a 30 hour day, Ill let you know. LOL….G 🙂
