I love a rainy night….

Scene from our front porch, late last night.

It was wonderful to see the rain again ( complete with ‘light show’ ). And it rained and it rained…….so cool and refreshing.

If you are still sweltering reading this, here’s hoping cooler temperatures and summer showers are on the way to where you live too.

Have a great weekend!     🙂

  1. Yay! Have a great weekend, yourself! 🙂

  2. It rained here yesterday too! It was cool and comfy FINALLY, but it’s still weird for us in SoCal to not have sunshine, especially in August.

    But i’ll take it!

I am LOVING your cookbook, G, big time, and have read through most of it already… hope we can get something done at the noozpaper, will be working on that this week!

I am curious, since i am allergic to eggs, do you think the meatloaf could have an egg substitute used? And also, is there a possible sub for the evaporated milk? Because i really want to try to make this, complete with the mashed potatoes…

Great pic of the rain at night. I love the vibe.

  3. Woke up this morning to 66*F and rain. After the raging flood waters we had in May, I never thought I’d be happy to see precipitation again, but this is just heavenly!!! Enjoy the day!

  4. hooray! rain! That is a good thing. The heat is breaking here…slowly. But, we’ll be fond of these warm days come January, right? 🙂

  5. Thanks for the splash! Could send it over my way when you are done. 🙂

  6. Beautiful photo and yay for the rain! We are having cooler temps also. cheers for a great weekend yourself.

  7. What a beautiful picture. It rained in Maryland last evening but not in my area. 😦

I hope you have a sparkling weekend!

  8. Hi Dawn, Right back at ya!!!! 🙂

Hi Karen, Thanks for the lovely compliments re: NJFV…Im kinda proud of it myself. 🙂
Yes, a review down your way would be great, lots of far but none that I know of in So.Ca.
    Glad you are cooling too…
About the meatloaf, this is really a recipe that works best as written, it is perfect, wonderful texture and taste and looks so nice with the potato ‘icing’. You could give it a whirl with egg sub. and creamer-type soy milk, that might work fine. Let me know how it goes and other recipe you try too.

Hi Sheep, Oh wow, what a relief eh!!! Your LR temp. photo made me feel so bad…I am glad you are chilling…enjoy!

Hi Heather, Yes, that is true but I am not a VERY warm weather person, that’s for sure. ARound 20-25C (70-80F ?) is just fine with me. Loving the bracelet that I purchased from your Etsy store BTW. Stop by Heather’s blog for some cool jewelry readers. Look forward to some new items too.

Hi Dori, Sending you a cool, soft rain and may it last long enough to do the job, let me know if/when it arrives. 🙂

Hi MaryAnne,Thanks for the compliment, its hard to take rain photos especially at night. Even the ones on Flickr aren’t great for the most part and there are a LOT of RAIN titled photos. I thought this one was kinda cool, even if not perfect. I liked the light beams too.

Hi Opal, Well at least its in the area, hope the rain falls soon where you are.

Have a wonderful weekend, dear Blog Buddies and thanks for stopping by, G 🙂

  9. Thanks, G. I’ll try it with the egg sub as well as soy for the milk and see what happens…

  10. Hi K, Id use Silk Creamer (the kind for coffee) not just regular soy milk, to give a richer flavor. I love it in coffee, might work fine for this recipe too. G
