A Mr. Cheddar (and friend) LOL! ;<)

For those of your who haven’t “met” JJ the Monkey already, here he is, having some fun with his Big Furry Pal, Mr. Cheddar.

Mr. Cheddar is NOT amused. ;)

Sure brings a smile to my day though, looking at this photo.

By all means, do leave a caption, if one should come to mind! :)

Pot of Gold-Monday LOL ;<)

We’ve been enjoying some 60-70′s music gold recently, including the CD: Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Love that song: Teach Your Children (click to watch/listen) so much….along with the other hits in this collection.

The CD also brought this hilarious skit from Canada’s : This Hour Has 22 Minutes (comedy series) to mind:

>>>POT OF GOLD <<<

Neil Young never sounded this good! ;) Mark Critch rocks.

Hope this brings a smile to your day too.

Happy Week! :)

Mr. Cheddar’s Got a Big Surprise Coming Soon! :<)

surprise ched

We are hoping to add a new feline to the family, in the near future.

Mr. Cheddar has missed dear Mitzi (click to read more about Mitzi and a poem I wrote for her) so much.

Dear Mitzi went to Cat Heaven back in 2009 after sharing 21 wonderful years (yes, 21!!!) with me and 8 of those with Joe too.

Cheddie has been so patient, waiting for a new pal to share his adventures with. But the wait, is almost over.

Stay tuned for exciting feline updates, coming soon!  ;)

Easter Treats from Me and Mr. Cheddar! :<)

classic ched 9-crop

Mr. Cheddar and I hope you have the best Easter ever!

I think he’s a treat,  just the way he is but the Bunny Ears do add a certain charm, don’t ya think? ;)

My sweet treat is a cake recipe that always brings Spring and Easter to mind.

carrot cake

My fav for the best  Carrot Cake I’ve ever enjoyed and a delish (not to sweet) lemony-cream cheese icing to go with it. If you think the photo looks yummy, wait til you taste it! ;) Here’s a link to the original post and recipes.

 Happy Easter Weekend!

Happy St. Paddy’s Day from Mr. Cheddar! ;<)

Happy St. Paddy’s Day to one and all!

I’m having a wee bit of fun out on the Green today, singing and dancing with an Irish pal of mine.

His name is Toe-Tappin’ Teddy.

Later on, we’re off to look for the Pot of Gold, just over the Rainbow!!

And perhaps some green kibbles and cabbage for din-din snort….. just joshin’.

I don’t think that would be Teddy’s “cup-of tea”. Maybe a wee dram of Irish Whiskey for my friend.  :)

          Laters, Irish Cheddie !

♣♣♣

Mr. Cheddar is also participating at Woven Dreams this week (first time) for the MUSIC prompt! ;)

PS: Here’s some information about the origins of Teddy, Cheddie’s Irish friend. He’s quite a rascal.

PSS: If this looks familiar, it’s a revised archive post, still makes me LOL. ;) Hope it brings a big smile to your day too. GH

RRRRRR…..ROAR!!!!

Some great advice from the fabulous Mr. Cheddar! :)

Sweets for Your Sweetie! Happy Valentine’s Day

February…..

The month in Canada that usually heralds the last, cold blast of winter. On the plus side, February is also the month of  ♥ and Valentine’s Day! And what better way to celebrate than to make some oh so easy, homemade chocolates for you and those you love.

I have quite a collection of chocolate heart boxes from over the years. Some so beautifully decorated, they are like works of art. I find it hard to discard/recycle these. So much better to fill them up  again, with yummy chocolates from the kitchen. ;)

The following is a recipe from my cookbook: Not Just for Vegetarians that was also featured in my craft book: A Year of Crafts,  years ago as a Valentine’s project. They are very easy to make but still decadent and delish.

See page 2 for complete recipe.

PS: In case this sounds familiar,  I previously posted this recipe etc.. at my Happy Break blog last year.

Here’s the link to that original post.  Thought it was worthy of an encore today. :)

A Mr. Cheddar Haiku: Charisma!

mr cheddar haiku osi

Haven’t written a Mr. Cheddar Haiku in quite a while.

Thought this week’s  One Single Impression prompt: Charisma was a purrrrfect opportunity. :)

PS: Mr. Cheddar also has a new review posted over at My Real Life Reviews

re:  the Jiffy Cat Grass Kit  aka Ched’s Personal Salad Bar. ;)

Have a wonderful week!

Ched Perkie: Feline P.I. !!! ;<)

ched perkie

Mr. Cheddar has been exploring some intriguing employment options for the new year.

He’s considering becoming a private eye!

What do you think? He certainly suits the costume. :)

Mr. Cheddar is such a perkie guy and he can definitely get into those hard to reach places where other investigators would fear to tread.

Call Ched Perkie: Feline PI!

That’s fifty kibbles a day, plus expenses. ;)

Naked Cake and “Foodie” Haiku for OSI ;<)

naked cake haiku

Being the avid foodie/cook that I am, when I saw the One Single Impression prompt for this Sunday: Naked, wouldn’t you know it:

NAKED CAKE came to mind. ;)

This story goes a long way back in my blogging history.

Suffice to say, the cake pictured above was named Naked Cake many moons ago by Tania Densiuk, a (former, sadly not blogging anymore)  blog pal who also shared a love of all things food.

I hope you like my culinary haiku! ;)

And here’s a link to the complete recipe for this oh, so yummy cake from my cookbook and also one of my foodie/green newspaper columns.

Valentine’s  day is just around the corner, you might want to keep this one in mind to make for your sweetie!

Wishing You a Fun and Happy Week! :)
